Located on the shoreline of Lake Geneva at the foot of the Alps, Montreux is a municipality of the Riviera-Pays-d'Enhaut district in the canton of Vaud in Switzerland. As of December 2016, the municipality has a population of 26,629 inhabitants and has an area of 33.4 square kilometres.
